Pisogne
mt. 187 asl - about 7.714 inhabitants.
Pisogne is a town located in the northern side of Lake of Iseo.
Here Val Camonica begins, where Oglio river comes into Sebino.
Pisogne has an interesting historical backgroud. In Roman epoch, the Via
Valeriana passed through this town, connecting Brescia and the valley;
this encouraged economy and development with trading between lake and
the Val Camonica people.
The Market place shows the Bishop tower, built in XIII century, and still
now on Friday there is the market. Santa Maria della Neve church is the
most important of the town; it had been built around 1400, and contains
many frescoes of Romanino.
Today Pisogne is a much-sought tourist center, wellcoming and relaxing.
