The simple and practical guide for visiting Turin


One word can identify Torino: elegant.
Torino is an amazing city, full of wonderful historic palaces and wide places, fine streets and gardens.
Torino is often excluded from the tourists tours, and it's a pity, because this city, which has been capital of Italy until 1864, offers a striking atmosphere, with baroque, neo classical and art nouveau imprint.

Visiting the most important places of Turin

Tourists can easily visit Torino on foot. Walking is the best way to visit the city: there are more than 18 km of porches and you can comfortably walk around, admiring the palaces and the shop windows.

By Car
If you want to get around Turin by car, remember that you can park your car in the paying parking; the tariff is from 0.40 euro to 1.5 euro /hour, depending on the zone where you are.
The Blue Zone are some areas where there is the Pay and Display parking: buy your voucher or insert the coins into the automatic tickets machines (from 0.50 to 2 euro/hour)

Public transports
From 5 am to midnight you can use public transports, as bus, tram or subway. You can find the tickets in tobacconists', cafés etc.
The ticket costs 0.90 euro, and is valid for 70 minutes.
We suggest to buy the "Giornaliero" ticket, that is valid for all day long (24 hours) and costs only 3 euro.
If you are a group of 4 persons, buy the "Viaggiare insieme" ticket, that can be used on Saturday, Sunday or on the holy-days from 14.30 to 20.00.
It costs 4 euro and can be contemporary used by 4 persons.

On foot
This is surely the best way to visit Turin: walking on foot you can appreciate the beauties of the city. Buy a good map and follow the walking you prefer to do: you won't be disappointed!

By bike
In many parks of Turin you can hire bicycles; if you like you can have some relaxing excursions alongside the Po and Dora river.
