The islands

Giudecca
This isle was, in 16th century, the site of precious houses, gardens, nunneries; during last century became the site for mills and handymen houses.

Il Redentore
This masterpiece is due to Palladio and Da Ponte's work from 1577 to 1592. In the inside you can admire some works of Tintoretto, Bassano, Palma il Giovane, Veronese.

Lido
Famous for the Mostra del Cinema and the casino, the Lido is also site of luxury hotels as Grand Hotel Excelsior and Grand Hotel Les Bains (where the film "Morte a Venezia" by Luchino Visconti, from Thomas Mann's work, has been made).

Murano
This isle is known for its glass artistic objects.

Burano
This isle is famous for the lace works production. There is an interesting Museo del Merletto (Lace museum).
